All eyes are on the Lok Sabha elections 2024 which would be held in months from now. The dates for the polls are yet to be announced by the Election Commission of India, the autonomous constitutional authority responsible for administering the Union and state elections in the country.

The upcoming general elections are crucial as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is eyeing a third consecutive term in office, a feat only achieved by India’s first prime minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.

How many voters registered to vote in Lok Sabha elections 2024?

According to the Election Commission of India, 96.88 crore voters are registered as on February 9, 2024 to cast their votes in the upcoming elections. There has been a significant six per cent increase in the number of electors from the previous election. In 2019, at least 89.6 crore voters had exercised their right to vote.

How many women voters will vote in 2024?

The Election Commission of India stated that 49.7 crore out of 96.88 crore electors are male while 47.1 crore voters are women. More than 2.63 crore voters have been added in the electoral roll out of which 1.41 crore are women. This number is more than the newly enrolled male voters i.e 1.22 crore.
